There will be a special dinner on Thursday 16th April at 7pm, at NIBANA, one of Plymouth’s finest Indian restaurants and a long-standing favourite of ours. We will enjoy a banquet featuring a selection of their best dishes, offering a rich variety of flavours and textures, accompanied by traditional Indian beer or another beverage of your choice.
Indian cuisine is the second most popular food in England after fish and chips, so we wanted to share this exceptional restaurant with Kaicho and the Shihans before we welcome all attendees on Friday morning for the first major training session together.
The Welcome Party will be held on Friday 17th April, from 7pm to 9pm, at The New Continental Hotel, Millbay Road, Plymouth, PL1 3LD. We will gather in the Athena Room on the ground floor for a couple of hours of drinks, bar snacks and light nibbles, giving everyone the chance to mingle and unwind after the first day of training.
The dress code is casual.
The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of most of the larger hotels in the city. Its position also places it close to many nearby pubs, as well as the famous Barbican by the harbour, which offers a lively nightlife for those who still have the energy to continue after the Welcome Party finishes.
The Sayonara Party will take place on Sunday 19th April, from 7pm until midnight, in The Ballroom at The New Continental Hotel—the same venue as the Welcome Party. The Ballroom is located on the ground floor, just past the Athena Room.
The evening will feature a hot buffet and we have a DJ who will take music and karaoke requests via QR code. There will be four microphones available, and we hope each country will join in by performing at least one karaoke song. We have arranged an international music licence, and the DJ is fully prepared to keep the evening fun and easy for everyone.
The dress code is smart casual.
